Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Hey everyone!

I hope you’re all happy and well on this lovely Monday morning. August already!! I can’t believe it. One week into my summer holiday as well. Time really does fly.

Well, yesterday the big day finally came, the day when the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play script was released, on Harry’s birthday nonetheless.

I’m excited but apprehensive like everyone else I guess. When you grow up with something it becomes a part of you. When something gets changed or adapted or added to, you always wonder whether it will be as wonderful as you expect it to be. Yet, I’ve got no doubt I will fall in love with this.

However, this is marred with some sadness. It is the end. I can’t believe this is really it. Rowling said herself:

“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realised so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

Could this ever really be the end when so many live and breathe Harry Potter?
Regardless, I’ll see you on the other side. Have you got yours?

Magic is happening all over again. I can’t wait!

Big love. Xx

  1. Haha, I’m very skeptical about her “no more Potter comment,” because she’s said that plenty of times before. I really did not like Cursed Child but I wanted to like it so badly :/ I’ll have a review up soon. It was super fun to celebrate the release, though!

    1. I really enjoyed it actually. I thought it was just as magical as the novels. I really want to see this in London now on stage. I bet it’s amazing.
However, there have been some criticisms towards it. I don’t see it myself but each to their own.

  2. I am very nervous about this book. I have seen sooooooo many copies of it everywhere I go and I just don’t know if I can handle what’s inside. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it! 🙂

  3. I’d just like to say if anyone is afraid or not being able to mentally prepare themselves to take hold of the book, take a deep breath and GO FOR IT! I absolutely LOVED IT! It’s ok if u may not like it as much (since the book has had mixed reviews) but u may as well fall in love with it like I did. It was so fluent, smooth and more like a satisfying end to it all. All the pieces falling in place. I really enjoyed it!≤3
